Negroni

Sweet vermouth and Campari bitters liqueur lend an interesting balance to this martini variation.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill shaker about 3/4 full)
3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
3/4 ounce Campari
3/4 ounce gin
Orange slice (for garnish)

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the sweet vermouth, Campari, and gin. Stir or swirl lightly, and then strain into a martini glass. (Note: Can also be served in a rocks glass filled with ice, if desired.) Garnish with the orange slice.

Blue Carnation (Blue Tail Fly)

A luscious chocolate-orange flavor waits behind this creamy blue cocktail.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill shaker about 3/4 full)
1/2 ounce white creme de cacao
1/2 ounce blue curacao
2 ounces cream or half & half

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the creme de cacao, blue curacao, and cream. Shake for about 10 seconds, and then strain into a cocktail glass.

Bacardi Cocktail

Grenadine lends a delightful pink hue to this festive rum sour.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill shaker about 3/4 full)
1 ounce Bacardi light rum
1/2 ounce grenadine 1-1/2 ounce sweet & sour mix

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the rum, grenadine, and sweet & sour mix. Shake for about 10 seconds, and then strain into a cocktail glass or an ice-filled rocks glass.

Amaretto Sour

This is a favorite in many nightclubs.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill shaker about 3/4 full)
1 ounce amaretto
2 ounces sweet & sour mix
Orance slice and cherry (for garnish)

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the amaretto and the sweet & sour mix. Shake for about 10 seconds, and then strain into a cocktail glass or an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with the orange slice and cherry.

Golden Margarita

This top-shelf version is sure to be a favorite.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill shaker about 3/4 full)
1 ounce Cuervo Gold tequila
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
1/2 ounce Rose's lime juice
1 ounce sweet & sour mix
1 lime wedge or lime slice (for garnish)

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the tequila, Grand Marnier, Rose's lime juice, and sweet & sour mix. Shake for about 10 seconds, and then strain into a margarita glass. (Ice and/or salt rim optional but recommended.) Garnish with the lime wedge or lime slice.

Tip: If you like a salt rim on your margarita glass, a rimmer can make the job easy. Buy one.

Rob Roy

This is a simple recipe for a Rob Roy, which is essentially a martini/manhattan made with scotch.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill shaker about 3/4 full)
6 to 8 drops of sweet vermouth
2 ounces scotch
Cherry (for garnish)

Fill a shaker with ice. Add the sweet vermouth and the scotch. Stir or swirl lightly, and then strain into a martini glass. (Note: Can also be served in a rocks glass filled with ice, if desired.) Garnish with the cherry.

Highball

This is a classic version of the traditional highball.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill a highball glass)
1 ounce whiskey (American, Canadian, or bourbon)
2 ounces ginger ale

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add the whiskey. Top with the ginger ale. Do not stir. Serve with a sip stick or straw.

Cafe Gates

This delectable coffee drink combines the rich tastes of chocolate, orange, and coffee-flavored liqueurs.

Ingredients:
1/2 ounce brown creme de cacao
1/2 ounce Tia Maria or other coffee-flavored liqueur
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
Coffee (enough to fill mug)

This is a classic recipe for this popular brunch cocktail.

Long Island Iced Tea

This is a favorite in bars and nightclubs across the U.S.

Ingredients:
Ice (enough to fill a tall serving glass)
1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce light rum
1/2 ounce light tequila
1/2 ounce triple sec
2 ounces sweet & sour mix
1/2 ounce Coke or other cola
Lemon wedge (for garnish)

Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the gin, vodka, rum, tequila, triple sec, and sweet & sour mix. Stir lightly. Top with Coke to achieve an iced tea color. Garnish with the lemon wedge.

Whiskey Sour

This is a simple recipe for a popular classic.

1 ounce whiskey (blended, Bourbon, or Canadian)
